We are very excited about recruiting talented students who would like to major in Dance at UNC Charlotte, located in one of the most culturally rich cities in the Southeast. Our department offers up to four individual scholarships of $4,000 distributed over four years for incoming freshmen. These awards consider students' financial need and potential to excel in the areas of dance. Scholarships are awarded to both those interested in performance, choreography, and/or dance education.
Eligibility Requirements
Students must apply for University admission before the audition by November 30, 2011.Eligibility for scholarships is contingent upon acceptance to UNCC.
Applicants must demonstrate consistent growth in performance, choreography, and/or dance education.
GPA must be 3.0 or aboveA completed scholarship application must be submitted to file in the Dance office no later than November 30, 2011.
Students must attend the Scholarship audition and interviews at UNC Charlotte January 13, 2012.Applicants should complete a preliminary FAFSA on file at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ no later than January 13, 2012.

The day's agenda will give the opportunity for applicants to audition and learn about the Dance program at UNC Charlotte, tour the campus, and speak one on one with faculty and current students. Daily schedule:

Incoming Freshman Dance Applicant Auditions
The two-hour audition class will consist of ballet technique, modern technique, and improvisation. A solo is not required. Female applicants should wear a leotard and tights or footless unitard. Male applicants should wear a t-shirt and tights or footless unitard. All applicants should bring ballet slippers. Hair should be worn neatly groomed away from the face and long hair must be in a bun. Jewelry should not be worn.
