The SoA incorporates “field trip week” each semester, with opportunities to travel with faculty to cities around the country. Recent visits include NYC, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, and more.
The SoA has three design research centers: 1) Digital Design Center; 2) Center for Integrated Building Design Research; 3) Design and Society Research Center.

The Department of Dance established the 1st undergraduate certificate at UNC Charlotte in 1999 with its Professional Training Certificate in Dance partnering with the North Carolina Dance Theatre
