The School of Architecture offers a fully-accredited undergraduate, professional, academic program in architecture: the Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) and a four-year non-professional, academic program: the Bachelor of Arts in Architecture (BA).The BArch program in the School consists of two distinct components: the four-year BA academic programs and a one-year program leading to the BArch academic programs. The BA is both a critical component of the School's accredited professional BArch program and a stand-alone, independent academic programs program. The BA offers two paths: the Professional Path prepares students for entry into the fifth year of study (which leads to the BArch academic programs), and the General Path prepares a student to pursue further study in an allied field (landscape architecture, product design, historic preservation, etc.).

The primary difference between these tracks is the course work taken during a student's fourth year. Students on both tracks pursue the same three-year architecture core (with the exception of Structures II). Students seeking the professional, academic programs (BArch) pursue architectural studio and other required architecture courses during their fourth year. Students who follow the General Track are not required to take Structures II or studio courses during their fourth year, using those open credit hours to pursue other areas of study.

All students in the School must declare their academic programs path during the first semester of their third year. Students are also required to submit am individual plan of study at this same time. The Associate Director and the School's Academic Advisor guide students in the preparation of their study plans.
